The homeowners for this project had a space just off their kitchen that they wanted to use for casual entertaining, as well as way to display two types of collections.

We helped create a beautiful display space that would showcase an extensive collection of whisky, as well as the homeowner's collection of vinyl records. Our crew built custom millwork that were suited exactly to the clients needs. The base of the millwork is wrapped in v-groove vertical planking, which is found in other areas of the home. The shelves above are set to a depth that exactly matches the size of the vinyl records. All of the custom millwork is painted in a semi-gloss finish to ensure durability and the color is Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze.

The couple wanted to prioritize seating for four, arranged in a circle that would be ideal for whisky tasting and conversation. To provide overflow seating, the homeowners added a cushioned top to the window seat bench that anchors the two ends of custom millwork.

Ambient lighting to feature and highlight the whisky collection was also very important to the homeowners. We added three wall sconces to an existing soffit above the shelves and stripes of LED lighting to backlight the whisky bottles. A plaid rug and decor in fall tones warm up the moody room and provide an idea space for entertaining and sharing their favorite whiskys.
