Timeless Tile Selections
This client came to us wanting to update the shower portion of a bathroom that was already fairly neutral. The existing space had white wainscoting and a black vinyl floor. The major pain point was the outdated tile shower that had a low showerhead, no light in the shower and aging tiles. The homeowners knew they needed the whole shower to be torn out, but wanted to match their existing black and white color scheme.
The client shared several inspiration images, which is always helpful when making tile selections.
Big Woods Construction was also able to help guide the client by making several recommendations for aesthetics and usability. First, we recommended a built-in tiled niche for shower products, so the homeowner wouldn't have to add a shower caddy to their brand-new showerhead. Second, in collaboration with the homeowner, we developed a design for the tile to extend outside of the shower to create a beautiful picture frame effect around shower itself. At Big Woods Construction, we use only the best materials, especially where water is at play. For the shower pan, we use the Schluter Kerdi shower system. To enable all the beautiful transitions, we utilized Schluter Wall trim.
