This cozy den was a small project but had big impact for the homeowners. The couple was ready to kick a traditional entertainment center out the door so were looking for a unique solution that would still provide the functionality needed to hide cords and provide a resting spot for a soundbar and some accessories.

Big Woods helped create a custom solution...a half-wall built to provide a small ledge for accessories and give a sense of balance under the large TV. The front of the wall is wrapped in vertical planking and a removable top that allows access to TV cords.

The walls, trim and wall are all painted Sherwin Williams Roycroft Bottle Green. Painting all the woodwork and trim in the room the same color provides an elevated aesthetic. The jewel-box feel allows the lighter furnishings, like the sofa and the rug to pop and provide balance to the eye. A pair of leather chairs and plaid ottomans further reinforces the sense warm and cozy family space.
